Lisa, tell us a little about your professional background and how you started at AKG. How has the company supported your career development?
My journey at AKG started nearly ten years ago with my training as an industrial clerk, which I successfully completed. Afterward, I gained valuable experience in the Order Center—a department I would later return to. I briefly worked outside of AKG, but soon found my way back. A key moment was when I played an active role in relocating the TTD to Hofgeismar, and after that, I rejoined the Order Center.
Throughout my career, AKG has always supported my development, particularly through tailored training opportunities. I was able to qualify as a certified customs specialist to meet the growing demands in export. Thanks to the trust placed in me, I first became a team leader and eventually took over as the Head of the Order Center and Shipping department. At the same time, I am currently pursuing further education to become a certified business economist.
Why did you decide to return to AKG after your brief time away?
The company culture at AKG is something I truly value. The friendly, family-like atmosphere and the smooth workflows made it hard to leave. These were the same reasons that drew me back. I genuinely enjoy working here and feel comfortable at AKG.
How did you experience the transition to a leadership role? What challenges did you overcome along the way?
Becoming a leader was definitely challenging, especially since I was also pursuing further education at the same time. However, thanks to the support of my team and the backing of senior management, I was able to navigate this path successfully. I wouldn’t have achieved this without the trust and collaboration of my colleagues and supervisors, which are essential to me.
How would you describe the company culture at AKG, and how has it influenced your career development?
AKG’s company culture is characterized by trust, openness, and mutual support. The collegial environment and clear communication provide me, as a leader, with the strong foundation I need to succeed. There’s always room for initiative, and the company places great emphasis on fostering employee growth.
What career achievements or milestones are you particularly proud of?
I’m especially proud of my journey at AKG. It’s not common to be given the opportunity to take on a leadership role at a young age. My training here and the chance to further my qualifications have been pivotal to my career development.

What do you enjoy most about the Hofgeismar region?
Hofgeismar offers a beautiful, rural setting that is also highly accessible. You can reach Kassel by car or train in just 25 minutes, and the stress-free commute without much traffic is something I really appreciate. The region provides ideal conditions for balancing family life and pursuing outdoor activities.
